      Hi Paul,

This will probably surprise you but the biggest problem you often face as an engineers is language barriers.

When you work with people from other disciplines (medicine, nursing, academia), we all speak our own languages and this can become an obstacle. In order for you to work together, you need to spend time in each others company and see things from their perspective.

A doctor may know nothing about technology so you have to educate them; and an engineer may know nothing about a particular medical condition and may need help from a doctor to better understand things.

While it may seem difficult, it’s probably my favourite part of the job!
